Our Staff Team

The staff team at Tru Community Church is comprised of men and women who love, care, and pray for every single person in the church. In accordance with Ephesians 4, their primary job is to help equip the members of the church for the works of ministry. Dave Geldart - Lead Pastor

Dave grew up in the Carolinas before moving to Kansas in 1996. He and Jenn married in 2004 and they have four kids: Benji, Sammy, Jack, and Annie. Dave graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelors in Business Administration in 2005. He then attended Emmanuel House Seminary where he earned his Masters of Divinity in 2008. Dave then served for 10 years as an Administrative Pastor before planting a church in 2018 and serving as its Associate Pastor until he joined the Tru family as Lead Pastor in August 2023. Dave loves photography, science fiction, fire pits, the mountains, nerdy board games, delicious food, and anything related to space.

Dilan Oglesby - Youth Pastor*

Dilan serves as the Youth Pastor at Tru Church, where he is passionate about discipling students and investing in families so faith can be lived out both at church and at home. He loves creating spaces for real conversations, deep relationships, and helping students grow in their identity in Christ. Outside of ministry, Dilan enjoys being a dad, spending time on the lake with his family, and never passing up a chance for good food.

James Helton - Connections Pastor

James grew up in the church and crossed the line of faith as a high school student. He graduated in 2002 from Central Christian College of Kansas with a Bachelor's Degree in Ministry and was ordained in the Wesleyan Church in 2004. James has served across Kansas and Nebraska as Youth, Worship, Lead, and Church Plant Pastor. He and his wife Amber have four beautiful daughters and one awesome baby son!

Jenn Geldart - Children's Minister

Jenn grew up in the Kansas City area with her mom and grandparents and chose to follow Jesus at a young age. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school and attended seminary with Dave before they began having kids. Since then she's helped lead children's ministries at multiple churches, including one she and Dave helped plant. Jenn has a heart for helping kids get to know the love of Jesus for themselves. Her favorite thing is to read a book on the couch with the sound of lawn mowers coming through the open window.

Amber Pontious - Administrative Coordinator

Amber grew up moving around the United States, an experience that continued into adulthood after marrying her husband, Dominic, during his time in the military. After years of travel, Amber and her family are excited to finally put down roots and build a lasting community with their two daughters. She has faithfully served as a mentor and Bible study leader at previous churches, where she developed a deep passion for helping others grow in their walk with God. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and writing, and has recently taken up crocheting. She finds joy in both creative pursuits and time spent outdoors with her family.

Antonio Fenton - Creative Arts Coordinator

Antonio is joining our staff as the Creative Arts Coordinator. He has been actively involved in Tru and recently welcomed a new baby into his family. Antonio loves using creativity to inspire worship and help others express their faith.
