Our Staff Team
The staff team at Tru Community Church is comprised of men and women who love, care, and pray for every single person in the church. In accordance with Ephesians 4, their primary job is to help equip the members of the church for the works of ministry. Dave Geldart - Lead Pastor
Dave great up in the Carolinas before moving to Kansas in 1996. He and Jenn married in 2004 and they have four kids: Benji, Sammy, Jack, and Annie. Dave graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelors in Business Administration in 2005. He then attended Emmanuel House Seminary where he earned his Masters of Divinity in 2008. Dave then served for 10 years as an Administrative Pastor before planting a church in 2018 and serving as its Associate Pastor until he joined the Tru family as Lead Pastor in August 2023. Dave loves photography, science fiction, fire pits, the mountains, nerdy board games, delicious food, and anything related to space.
Kayla Talarico - Creative Arts & Youth Minister
Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Kayla grew up in a single parent household and always valued the Lord and his provision. Following her call to ministry, Kayla moved from Nebraska to Manhattan, Kansas and attended Manhattan Christian College. There she met her husband Nathan, and graduated in May of 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Bible and Leadership with emphases in Worship and Counseling. Kayla and Nathan welcomed their baby girl, Maelie, in 2024! Kayla enjoys music in many forms and genres, has two huskies at home, and loves baking sweets!
James Helton - Connections Pastor
James grew up in the church and crossed the line of faith as a high school student. He graduated in 2002 from Central Christian College of Kansas with a Bachelor's Degree in Ministry and was ordained in the Wesleyan Church in 2004. James has served across Kansas and Nebraska as Youth, Worship, Lead, and Church Plant Pastor. He and his wife Amber have 4beautiful daughters and one awesome baby son!
Jenn Geldart - Children's Minister
Jenn grew up in the Kansas City area with her mom and grandparents and chose to follow Jesus at a young age. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school and attended seminary with Dave before they began having kids. Since then she's helped lead children's ministries at multiply churches, including one she and Dave helped plant. Jenn has a heart for helping kids get to know the love of Jesus for themselves. Her favorite thing is to read a book on the couch with the sound of lawn mowers coming through the open window.
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for the work of ministry, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Our Elder Team
Tru Community Church is led by a volunteer team of elders who serve by overseeing the vision and staff of the church.
