OUR STORY

Although Tru Community Church officially launched on Easter Sunday (April 20th) 2014, the church was active in the surrounding community of St. George for many years beforehand.  Westview Community Church, just a few miles away in Manhattan, had it in their heart to plant a new church in the growing area of St. George. Through many years of prayer of dedicated people serving in the community of St. George, God led Westview to begin a new work in St. George. God brought together a new church launch team led by founding pastor Dave Romero, to reach out to people in the St George area and beyond by sharing the love of Jesus in tangible ways.

The church name is an acronym about the love and message of Christ we carry together: Timeless, Relevant, and Unconditional.

Tru first began meeting together for Sunday worship at the St. George Elementary School which graciously hosted the church for several years. The church also met at a St. George wedding venue called Black Jack Hills through the summer of 2020. Then in March 2021, Tru moved into our new building at the corner of Highway 24 and Flush Road under the pastorate of Art Matheny.

In August 2023, Tru welcomed our new lead pastor, Dave Geldart and we are excited to continue our mission to reach out to the St. George area and beyond sharing the love of Jesus Christ in tangible ways.
